Union Square will be rattlin’ and shakin’ tonight with some awesomely trippy sounds – bring yourself to Radio and wade through the epicenter of this massive explosion of soundwaves. FMLY friend and current Boston resident Yohuna (Eau Claire, WI) produces haunting dreampop with a Casio keyboard and layers of stringy, interstellar guitar wrapped inbgauze and tight drums [her “River” is also one of the single saddest, strangest Christmas tunes ever created]. Portland, ME’s Liza Victoria spins haunting webs of folk as Lisa/Liza, setting quivering vocals to tense guitar that chills like it’s from a modern remake of an Edgar Allen Poe story. Then there’s Acid Smoker – if the name alone doesn’t titillate you, these booming, live-constructed loopy tunes are sure to set your head spinning. And The Dying Falls is built like a layer cake: a base of groovy New Wave a la The Vapors, slathered with snappy dance beats and synth leads, topped with a layer of straight 80’s sounds, and iced with fantastically groaning vocals. Come dig this killer mashup of genres at Radio – you won’t be disappointed.
