A classic supporting actor/character actor. A face
if you will. And a great, interesting face the man has.
Ornery, and manic, and philosophical at different times,
Harry Dean Stanton is always a pleasure to watch. His demeanor
is imbued with an every man quality, but an off every man(does that make any sense?),
that has made him a kind of cult film hero.
Harry Dean has played important roles in some of our favorite films:
REPO MAN, ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK, COCKFIGHTER, RED DAWN,TWO-LANE BLACKTOP, ALIEN and
WILD AT HEART. And he recently made a huge mark with an amazing late career role
as the despicable prophet Roman Grant on HBO’s great series Big Love.
Seek out his films! Just looking at the man’s filmography I’m realizing that
I need to do the same!
