Canadian punks White Lung begin their tour tonight at the fancy Great Scott in Allston!! The quartet’s latest release under Domino Records titled “Deep Fantasy” features their aggressive, emotional punk, with forceful and driving instrumentation. (Listen to “Down it Goes” and you will understand immediately.) Longtime pals of White Lung and Canadians Mormon Crosses are tagging along for the east coast portion of the tour. These three dudes offer up less aggressive, more low-key punk with catchy guitar parts fronted by Jesse Taylor (ex-Twin Crystals, among others). Getting the night started is Cambridge residents Sweet John Bloom, experimental punk with lyrics many may be able to relate to. If you like what you hear, look for their Weird Prayer/LP this winter of 2014 or just replay their debut “Picky” over and over again.
