Oh boy, looks like today is packed with great shows for us Bostonians. For instance, in the idyllic greenery that is Jamaica Plain, the lovely Aviary Gallery is hosting Casey Dienel, aka WHITE HINTERLAND, as well as couple local lovers to sweeten the pot. As the name suggests, White Hinterland makes starkly beautiful synth compositions that are quiet yet profound, intimate and uplifting, her whispered croons like a winter fairy lamenting the expansive loneliness of a snow capped mountaintop. To compliment these hush mellifluous sounds, OLDEN YOLK (Shane of Quilt) lays down his soothing pastoral pop with layers of liquid guitar and his gentle singing. Experimental harpist SOPHIE DICKINSON infuses her delicate, mesmerizing melodies with tape playback of field recordings and additional (often warped) harp parts, adding a round noisy ambiance and element of chance to her performance. If you are looking for a quiet evening to ease you into the sonic stream, you can’t go wrong with these babes.
