The glistening, tinny 60s-gone-punk jams of Guillermo Sexo (Midriff Records) will have you spinnin’ like a twister – and it’s their record release party tonight, so pick up a copy of their newest album Dark Spring and dig in. It’s also Marconi‘s last show; make sure you come to scoop up as much of their Wurlitzer-fueled psych-gaze as you can. Boogie Boy Metal Mouth is packed to the brim with rhymes and stalls, all set on a framework of spacy electronic drumbeats and humming, squealing synth tones. Doze strings together crunchy post-hardcore guitar riffs with rough bass and smashing cymbals to make something interesting and persuasive. And there’ll be sweet DJing between sets by Infinite Jeff!
