New England may not be famous for its gnarly waves, but it deserves some serious attention for the slew of great surf-rockers that emerge from its storied shores. After all, surf-rock legend Dick Dale is a Boston native! So why not celebrate that great surf-rock heritage at TUBEFEST, which brings together more than a dozen greats from the New England surf music scene today at O’Briens Pub in Allston.

Tubefest brings together multiple generations and iterations of surf-rock: from the self-effacing nu-surf of Boston’s Tsons of Tsunami to the old-school hot-rod surf stylings of Connecticut’s 9th Wave (who have been at it since the early 90’s), there is something for everyone here.

Anyhow, it’s way too hard to describe all 13 of these bands, so give ’em a listen below! The doors open at 2 PM so get there early…and stay late.
