TONITE(11/27) THE THIN BLUE LINE(1988) Directed by Errol Morris @ the Brattle Theater

by

Tonight @ the Brattle THE THIN BLUE LINE, one of the great documentaries, and one of the great murder mysteries set to film, is being shown. The film also represents perhaps the finest work of the great, locally based documentarian, Errol Morris. Philip Glass provides the mesmerizing score.

from the Brattle website:
Morris’ most influential documentary, THE THIN BLUE LINE recounts the case of Randall Dale Adams, a man on death row in Texas convicted of a murder he insists he did not commit. Interweaving interviews with key figures in the case with dramatic recreations, Morris creates a compelling investigative film that, ultimately, contributed to Adams’ release from jail.

THE THIN BLUE LINE kicks off a series @ the Brattle called Seeing is Believing: The Non-Fictions of Errol Morris which features almost all of Morris’ theatrical releases. The series run from 11/27-12/1. OUR PICKS FOR THE SERIES: The Thin Blue Line, Mr. Death, Tabloid, Gates of Heaven.
