TONITE(11/26) A Film Noir & Underground Rock Saturday

by

Underground music warriors unite tonite @ the Smokey Bear Cave in Allston. Skimask and their mouth-synth groove; Guerrilla Toss and their piles of noisy anti funk and skronk; Exusamwa with their unholy mix of electronic weird pop and hardcore; Hunnie Bunnies with their beat driven electronic noise; and Rotten Apples with their post-glam free rock are all in the house tonight. In fact if some dastardly villain wanted to ruin the Boston music scene in a post-thanksgiving explosion it would be perfect to blow up the Smokey Bear Cave tonite considering the sheer mass of awesomeness present within. Also, Rind features ex-members of Chicago’s late lamented Coughs. See you there.

On a completely different tip, two of the all time great film noirs are screening tonight at the Brattle Theater in Cambridge. Both star the unofficial mascot of the Brattle, one of the coolest dudes of all time, Humphrey Bogart. And you even have some Peter Lorre thrown in for good measure. A perfect way to chill out amidst the piles and piles of probable leftovers. The Brattle is always there for your quality film needs.
