This is a great varied line-up tonight at PA’s, with 2 solo performers and 2 bands. Expect some soothing, introspective minimalism as well as some wild rock’n’roll deconstruction. The headliner is Geoglyphs, a Somerville-based duo that build lush groove-spaces with nimble drumming and hypnotic bass & electronics. Many Arms are on the road from Philly with their well-executed take on math-rock that does not shy away from outright proginess. You may have been lucky enough to see their lead guitarist Nick Millevoi shred solo at the Butcher Shoppe last year with Hyrrokin and Amoroso. I’m not sure exactly what to expect from Brendan Murray tonight and that’s part of the fun. His primary territory is wide-open stretches of electronics, but he consistently pushes the boundaries with fresh approaches. Be sure to show up on time (8pm) to catch Eat Cloud‘s guitar explorations, nodding both to a kraut-y past and a hyper-technological future. Leave your brain’s skylight open to his entrancing pulses from distant 6-string nebulae.
There’s more info on the Facebook event. See you there. – WM
