Daïchi Saïto is a Japanese filmmaker based in Montreal, working with 8mm, 16mm, and 35mm. This guy is straight nuttz. Beautiful, layered, and destroyed, his short films are sure to send some shivers down your spines. Tonight, the Brattle Theatre in Harvard Square is showing seven of his films (including Trees of Syntax, Leaves of Axis, recipient of the Best of the Festival Award at the Ann Arbor Film Festival and the Jury Grand Prize at the Media City Film Festival), and Daïchi Saïto will be giving a Q & A after. Sick!
