Midway‘s throwin’ a huge eclectic show tonight, so get yourself out to JP and enjoy this musical melting pot. The Silks spin bluesy porch-stompin’ tunes that will make you swear they’re from someplace further south than Providence. Columbus noise-core fiends Stella bring along slicing guitar riffs and spazzed-out lyrics, while local lo-fi character Dylan Ewen (BUFU Records) jangles with the best of ’em and throws insanely catchy melodies over gnarly soundclips. His BUFU associate Jesus Vio cranks out pithy, melancholic grinds written in major keys – they’ll kick you right in the softest part of your heart – and local act Van Buren promises booming presidential punk rock.
