Do you like getting lost in oceans of heavy metal fuzz? Then you probably want to see Boston-based masters of doom and sludge Rozamov tear it up tonight in Cambridge at Charlie’s Kitchen, along with Portsmouth’s metal/punk-crossover two-piece Black Norse and Bostonian hardcore band I Am Become Death. This one’s brought to you by the joint efforts of Allston’s always in-the-know show organizers Fast Apple, together with the purveyors of heavy metal from New England’s underground: Temple of Doom Productions. As atmospheric as a sunken colossus and every bit as heavy, Rozamov’s latest recorded material, the self-released EP Of Gods and Flesh, features musicianship and technical skill to rival Georgia’s vast armada of killer metal bands (they might even be heavier than all of Georgia’s metal bands combined). I Am Become Death’s metal-toned flavor of hardcore and Black Norse’s epic songwriting will start things off at a quick pace before Rozamov brings it down to a slower, more titanic tempo. This will in all likelihood be your last chance to see Rozamov play locally before they park the tour van and start working on their next album, so you better go!
