String & Fader are always dancing, thinking, and moving to the dopest sounds in the Boston Area. Tonight, at Middlesex Lounge, they roll our eardrums with an innovative series called Versus, where genres clash together in order to create a one-of-a-kind listening experience.

This installment features snazzy hornporn outfit COCEK! BRASS BAND, whose marching melodies provide enough good vibrations to resuscitate a pile of roadkill. They blow their horns and back it up with a homemade recipe for chutzpah! Attendees will receive a free download of their upcoming String & Fader Versus Cocek! Brass Band release, various remixes of their debut album Here Comes Shlomo, and an off-the-chain collaboration with local jazzhouse creative CHADLEY and his arsenal of avantbeats. Completing this amazing bill are returning champs DAGUERREOTYPE, who prove that a horn quartet can hang with the disk jocks. CHUCK “DICK” MANCHESTER and DJ T-BYRD master the ceremony by filling the space between sets with stage banter and sonic vignettes respectively.

The hills are alive with the sound of electroacoustic slamjams, so tap them feets over to the Middlesex Lounge in Central Square, Cambridge. This is a unique gathering that should not be missed! After all, what is not to love about a massive collaboration between composers, brass bands, and DJ’s?!
