If you can make the trek out to Western Mass tonight, your reward will be the chance to experience this collection of some of New England’s finest freaks all together under one roof at the Flywheel Arts Collective in Easthampton – and all for a good cause! This is a benefit show for the victims of a fire that ravaged several small businesses in Hadley, MA last month.
And what a benefit!
Boston’s fiercest sonic fury, Guerilla Toss tear up basements and melt minds with their skronk punk rage, shrieking vocals, and Dionysian performances. With a new album coming out next month on NNA Tapes, they’re in as fine a form as ever and poised to explode in ecstatic fractals of day-glo frenzy all over your preconceptions of sound. They’re joined on this killer bill by Whitehaus Family Record top gangster Arkm Foam, translator of timelessness through manipulated tapes and explorer of barriers between sound and performance, Northampton-based fun punk what-the-fuck merrymakers Zebu! (Feeding Tube), stoner surf groove queens Fat Creeps, weirdo pop genius Zach Phillips of hectic experimental hitmakers Blanche Blanche Blanche (OSR), and the always hilarious rock deconstructions of Western MA improv scene mainstay Anthro Rex and The Buzzin Dozen. Any combination of these insanely talented acts on a bill (even just one of them!) would be reason enough to haul your ass out to Easthampton tonight. With all of them together, it’s damn near inexcusable not to make the effort. Go out and get your mind blown for a good cause. Bills like this just don’t come around every night…or every year!
