When you’re in the mood for something smooth, fuzzy and vaguely psychedelic, count on Cambridge record label and show-makers pRIMORDIAL sOUNDS to deliver the goods. For tonight’s installment of their monthly residency at Middlesex, PM has brought in a couple local garage rock do-gooders and a veteran funk & soul DJ to keep spirits high and hips a-shaking.

Cambridge’s BLINDERS ride an easy, laid back groove accented by salty sweet vocal harmonies and a splash of that 00’s surf pop sound that’s as fluffy, sticky and delicious as cotton candy on the boardwalk. Fellow Cantabrigians (yes that’s how you say it) BEACH TOYS continue the mellow honeydew mood with a lackadaisical pop approach sure to seduce many an ear. And DJ E Dorsey of popular dance night SOULELUJAH shares his deep, deep collection of funk and soul vinyl, spreading the good news for the light-footed.
