OPENING of Études: Kenji Nakayama @Fourth Wall Project (Fenway)

by

Tonight from 7-9pm!

Kenji Nakayama is an international treasure who has been calling Boston home for the past decade.  Tonight head over to the incomparably cool Fourth Wall Project for the opening of his first major solo exhibition in Boston, debuting all new abstract works created in just the last 7 months.  Go for no other reason than to see what kind of skills are born from a decade spent mastering the art of pin striping.

Nakayama moved from Japan to Boston in order to study traditional sign painting at the Butera School of Art (R.I.P.).  After having spent years as a footwear designer for Converse, Nakayama is now with local faves Best Dressed Signs while doing other independent work.

Curated by Kristen Wawruck, Études includes a new 49 piece series in which each piece was created with the same small cast of characters: black paper, acrylic line work, and a white enamel finish.

Go see the Master at work and bow down.

Opening Reception 4/18, 7-9pm // On view thru 5/18
