OPEN LOOP PRESENTS: DESTRUCTION UNIT (AZ), SEWER GODDESS, THE UKIAH DRAG @ O’BRIEN’S

by

Open Loop has put together a gnarly show tonight at O’Brien’s with a lineup sporting bands across the gamut of shocking music. Arizona’s Destruction Unit shreds molten desert-psych licks built on searing distortion and globs of reverb – their music is the kind of thing that’s best experienced on the back of a vintage cruiser. The sounds of rattling chains, torture victims, and flickering streetlamps feature highly in the darkly ambient work of Sewer Goddess (Black Plagve/Malignant Records); their work is positively terrifying and hypnotically seductive because of it. And the dirty post-punk dirges of The Ukiah Drag (Ascetic House) crunch together muddy fuzzy guitar, solid bass, and scraggly vocals that will keep you coming back for more. Bike it, T it, walk it, whatever – just get to Allston somehow and dig this killer lineup.

8:30pm // 21+ // $8

[Pharmakon was slated to play but had to drop last minute – but a sweet local band is sure to fill their spot]
