Drop out of the rat race and sink into this lovely bath of ambient rhythms, made especially for you by those sonic connesseuirs at Non-Event. As usual, the non-profit arts group brings a bunch of high-minded Europeans to inculcate us provincials. PORTER RICKS is a German duo of seminal dark ambient producer Thomas Köner and sound engineer Andy Mellwig, here melding disparate sonic detirtus into a shambling, inevitable force of far-out techno. They’re joined DREW MCDOWALL, a Scott who’s had his hand in many pots – from proto-industrial pioneers Coil, late 70’s art punks Poems, and more recently of groups CSD (formerly Captain Sons and Daughters) and Compound Eye (with Tres Warren of Psychic Ills). He’s apparently mysterious and reclusive, so you’ll just have to come out to hear his solo stuff. These are sounds to awaken your third eye and whatnot, so come down and be uplifted.
