NON-EVENT partners up with SMFA to bring the noise @ SMFA Anderson Auditorium TONIGHT – where Chicago-based multi-instrumentalist KEVIN DRUMM is come breathe life into his prepared guitar and processed electronics. A true ‘chameloen of sound,’ Drumm has been a heavily involved in the free improv community, performing with far out heavies like Gastr del Sol, Jason Lescalleet, Jim O’Rourke and a whole bunch more. Mixing electronic and acoustic sources into a seamless blend, Drumm harnesses the soundwaves, twisting them from quiet and gurgling to broad and roaring. He’s joined by OCEANS ROARS 1,000 DRUMS, a trio featuring Todd Capp (drums and cymbals), Bryan Eubanks (soprano saxophone and electronics) and Andrew Lafkas (bass and synthesizer) cut deep, quiet grooves as a testament to intransigence. Not a bad way to spend a Tuesday night.
