It’s a Tuesday smorgasbord of trippy tunes and pop-y jams tonight at O’Brien’s. Dark daytrippers Mind Yeti are back on the scene (!) and their psychic/psycho/psychedelic escapades will wash over you like your deepest sleep, then tug you into a vortex of nightmare-flavored, grease-smeared, reverb-swollen sound. Chicago’s The Humminbird sport B3 riffs and auto-harp licks that swirl around dark walls of buttery acid-folk vocals. Gleeful pop-punk is the name of the game for Hard Shrugs – punchy melodies mixed with hearty dose of spunk. And the mysterious Uncle Frank will probably sit you down on its lap and tell you about that one time, before your cousin was born, with the whiskey and the automatic corn-husker…Get out to Allston and stuff your head full of this primo sound!
