The Men, Ukiah Drag @ Great Scott

by

Tonight is your chance to see one of rock ‘n roll’s most fast-evolving bands perform a set that will keep your head spinning. Brooklyn’s THE MEN invade Boston with their wild range of riff-driven jams that defy a conventional classification of music. To say this band has changed is an understatement. In four years they have churned out four well-received albums all with distinct sound. Most bands change sounds and the magic is gone but this isn’t the case here. From noise-rock inspired hardcore all the way to country rock they have navigated almost all the electric guitar has to offer.

You’re ears are in for a thrashing. This show is in support of their latest release Tomorrows Hits due out on March 4th by SACRED BONES.

Traveling with The Men is the powerful psych of THE UKIAH DRAG (Wharf Cat), hailing from Provi by way of Boston and Florida. The Ukiah Drag is a mysterious band named after a dusty little byway pit stop in Cali trapped by mountains. It’s this odd aesthetic that frames the twangy western often bluesy tunes this trio churns out. With the hopelessness and all-encompassing power of the desert, these songs bring a sense of raw despair to the forefront. Apathetic jazz and bleak noise-rock combine into a surreal, jarring experience – like a night traipsing through a creepy carnival. Whatever The Ukiah Drag brings to Boston, it’s sure to be an intriguing sound.

For fans of heavy, boundless rock, this is a can’t miss show – so get out there people.
