Come to Cambridge’s Outpost 186 for a mid-week, virtuosic jazz performance that you simply do not want to miss! Rolling into town together are pianist/composer Matthew Shipp and bassist/composer Michael Bisio, who share the stage in Shipp’s trio but have also taken to the studio and the road as a duo. These two titans of improvisation bring an almost supernatural sense of composition and form to their musical explosions. The praise that their Relative Pitch Records release (‘Floating Ice‘) received was well-earned, as it displayed a balanced combination of themes and free-flowing solos.
These two jazz technicians are capable of injecting a little bit of soul into your Wednesday night, too, so make your way to Outpost 186 for this awesome show!
