A couple of western Mass root rock eccentrics join a gaggle of Boston oddballs for this caterwauling blast of weirdo rock TONIGHT at the famed and urbane Jamaica Plain venue Midway Cafe. Country folk crooner Brian Gillig brings his Turner’s Falls blues to the big city, trading in his quiet folk melodies for a sound more raucous with LOUDVILLE. New pop rockers THE GRUDGES meld intelligent songwriting with mind boggling freak out jams. They’re joined by demented pop groungers BUTTERCUP (Nate Ventura + Lee of SaraLee), who ratchet up the unsettling tension with bristling, unbalanced anti-grooves. The deep freakers in the mysterious GOD’S DOGS huff the fumes of Jerry Garcia’s rotting flesh and regurgitate a kaleidescopic sea of mind-fucked delight.

For those who like a little whiskey in their tea, and LSD in their whiskey, get into this show and reevaluate your relationship to ‘rock.’
