The first offering from the sizzled minds of Gary War and Taylor Richardson, formed out of a mutual love for pop shimmer, the hilarious/ disturbing rabbit-hole of youtube, and uneasy synth. Written in the summer of 2011 in NYC, and recorded literally a stones throw from Wingearsheek Beach in Gloucester; “Animal Husbandry” is more or less an acid-fried mirror on NY life, dirty and discombobulating, yet colorful and not entirely without hope. Full of layered, supernatural sounding found sounds and blasts of saturated synth-plume, “Animal Husbandry” is a love-letter to those who find beauty in the– at times– absolutely fucked modern landscape we all have to deal with. Released on Spectrum Spools records, one of the finest purveyors of modern weirdness going lately.
