HUBBLE is the side project of Zs’ member, Ben Greenburg, thus like Zs Hubble comes from New York. Hubble’s music however is of outer space as its name implies. A new full length is available on the insanely right on NORTHERN SPY RECORDS called HUBBLE DRUMS and it is a wild thing. Droning and beautiful but also full of guitar action, listening to this is a mesmerizing experience. Make sure to watch the awesome pairing of Hubble’s trance inducing music and footage from the giant telescope of the same name for Hubble’s “Hubble’s Hubble”, a track from the new album. We also grabbed a couple streams (below) not on this album…On “Hubble Escape” tiny guitar phrases plink into existence, slowly coalescing, bumping into and off of one another creating a bubbling cacophony. From the droning stew John Carpenter’s main theme from ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK rises, and eventually gives way to a falling down the stairs prog-metal series of variations on the theme. On “Hubble Ward” the ever present bouyant guitar tapping, like bubbles rising from the ocean’s floor in a metal-ish flurry, sound something like an endless early Hella moment. He plays a Non-Event show in Boston in early december so look out!
