JUNE COMPASS: Places You Can Hang… Dorchester Art Project

by

June means 100 issues of the Compass. But it also means 6 months since we took over operations at Dorchester Art Project! DAP is many things, and we are making it into more things all the time. We’re on the second floor of a Vietnamese dessert place. We are down the street from the Dorchester Public Library. Up here you can draw on the walls and organize a show to make noise with your friends. Here are some of the things you could find at DAP on any given day or night: a DJ night, a birthday party, a gallery opening, an artist working on a painting in their studio, a zine library, a meeting, a music workshop, a play. And whatever else you can dream up. We want to hear about it.

DAP is our headquarters at Brain Arts, so we hang out here a lot. And you can too! This is 100% a “Place You Can Hang”. We want this to be a place where communities come together. Over the past six months I can really say it’s amazing what you can grow when you just have a space to be.

Come be with us ! Want to throw an event, show or celebration? Or maybe you want to draw on the walls somewhere, or discover a new zine about how to grow your own herbs. Drop us a line at [email protected] and say hey.
