Compass #115: Music Big 3 // Bust Out Boston

by

Listen up! The sound of Boston has always been dominated by fierce, strong, and talented womxn, gender non-binary, and gender non-confirming performers from all ages, races, identities and musical genres. Want to celebrate this powerful legacy of femme talent by watching some prime examples rock out on stage? Then you don’t want to miss Bust Out Boston at Brighton Music Hall on September 8.

This year’s genre-diverse lineup ranges from emerging artists such as Genie Santiago and The Downhauls to an established act like Walter Sickert and the Army of Broken Toys, plus headliners: Wellesley College alum, genre-defying, national touring artist Caroline Rose and one of Boston’s most prominent rappers Dutch Rebelle. Yeah, it’s going to be Kick. Ass.

In our time of #metoo and Donald Trump, womxn find themselves at once being heard, yet also facing the threat of suppression and the reversal of rights—isn’t that moving backwards…uh, hello!? The female-identifying community needs to throw the switch on their amplifiers and get louder. Come be a part of it.

Join us in breaking the status quo this September 8.
