I’m Thankful for the Feeling of Music – A.J. Colosimo

by

I’m thankful for the feeling of music. From sitting around listening through headphones to in the middle of a pit with a hundred other people, the connection and community and outpouring of emotion are the most important things it has to offer. Without this 2014 would have been a lot worse of a year for me, and in particular I’m thankful for Cloud Nothings.

In the middle of a depressive episode and looking at the center of nothing and nowhere, then suddenly this angry and chaotic comes out and finds its way into my head at all times. “I’m not telling you all I’m going through / I feel fine” became an internal rallying cry and a rock to attempt to steady myself with and try to deal with internal pain and doubting of self-worth and gaining a better appreciation for the pain that others go through.
Without music and people who support it and come together over their favorite local and national artist’s life would be strange, in a bad way. Friends would not have been made all over the place. Without Cloud Nothings 2014 would have been different, in a worse way. For that, I am and will remain thankful.
