HURRICANES OF LOVE, TARP AND GASTRIC LAVAGE @ FEEDING TUBE

by

Truly righteous show tonight for all you western Mass souls! It’ll be good vibes all across the Valley thanks to the ripple effect of Hurricanes of Love‘s album-release show and tour kick-off at Feeding Tube Records. Prepare to have your hearts, minds and ears expunged of darkness when this mystic folk guru washes over you in a rain of finger-plucked acoustic neo-Appalachia. Drawing comparisons to the likes of Robbie Basho’s raga-folk and John Fahey’s finger-picking ecstasy, Frank Hurricane of Hurricanes of Love harnesses the holy power of an intricate finger-style played with carefree ease, while crooning away evil spirits and occasionally delving into ephemeral sound experiments.

Frank’s coming out with a new double-LP called Quintorian Blues on Feeding Tube Records, not something to miss!

Starting things off will be a couple of acts from the noisier side. The electronic duo that is Tarp will take you somewhere else with long-form sonic constructions made from bubbling feedback and an evolving amalgam of hums and hisses. Look out for their self-titled 12″ they released last year on Feeding Tube while your there!

Solo-project Gastric Lavage is known to push things to the outer limits with seething walls of sound, extreme tones, and a cosmic sort of cacophony. But an ever-changing instrumentation ensures that every performance will be different! He’s come out with a slew of self-released things over the years so keep your eyes open.

Be sure to come out to this night of delectable western Mass. music and support Hurricanes of Love’s tour. It will be like spring – but early!
