Bleeding Rainbow and Fat Creeps continue their cross-country escapades tonight at the Great Scott! These bands both slay with punk vibes of the garage-y variety, but each brings something completely different to the table. LeVar Burton’s favorite chunky garage sound – assembled effortlessly by Phili’s Bleeding Rainbow – is washed-out and slightly spacy, with some hints of 60’s rock vocals thrown in; it sounds like a train bearing down tracks while the conductor is asleep and all the passengers get messy and twist. On the other hand, Fat Creeps is trashy and squealy but nails the floaty, carefree, almost whistle-like vocal harmonies like no one else – they’re like a summer afternoon drive through Gloucester captured in a bottle and mixed with the perfect raspberry lemonade. Get yourself out and come savor the deliciously different delights of this powerful duo.
