Record release shows are always especially fun affairs, and the scene tonight at Great Scott should be no exception. Hometown heroes Krill are celebrating the release of their self-released sophomore effort, Lucky Leaves. Give it a listen on Bandcamp beforehand if you want to be able to sing along to all the new songs; otherwise, be prepared for a night of intriguing and pensive alt-rock. This is the sort of music that would make a good soundtrack to important life revelations.
Brooklyn’s Ava Luna is also joining in on the bash, contributing their signature blend of seriously sexy avant-pop with silky synthesizer touches. Saralee— the Boston band, not the infamous oven roasted turkey purveyor–will be in attendance and will surely give you crazy, hazy dreams. And fellow New Englanders Huge Face will hold it all together with their anthemic upbeat pop-rock. Huge props to Sippy Cup Everything for making this all happen and to Ronnie Nordac for serving as official MC! This show is sure to be a blast. After all, the Krill crew likes to have fun: you can purchase the new album on LP, CD, and as a USB stick jammed into a mozzarella ball. Those cheesers.
