If you’re in Boston and you dig metal, there’s no reason not to be at Great Scott in Allston tonight. Salem, New Hampshire natives Trap Them are sure to make a big statement with their unique brand of metal– it combines the maniacal, driving pace of punk with heavy guitar riffs and seriously intense vocals. The band’s latest release, 2011’s Darker Handcraft (released on Prosthetic Records), was a career highlight. If you dig Trap Them, you might want to get your tickets for this show sooner rather than later– according to the band’s Facebook page, this will be their only show in the Boston area this year. All of the opening acts are Boston-based, including masters of doom and sludge, Phantom Glue; hardcore punkers Lunglust, and crazy screamin’ metalheads/self-described mortal enemies Jack Burton vs. David Lo Pan. Now everybody get down to Allston and get moshing!
