What better way to celebrate this sweet summer solstice than with a mellow potluck show. Partake in the bountiful feast that is Jamaica Plain’s musical community, as diverse soothsayers and groove-makers fill the Squirrel Cafe with their melodious noise. Fey Rey and the Freedom Sounds gently croon their way into your melting heart with soft folk guitar strumming. The Broons, led by local bard Pancho tha Kidd, lay down those golden country-fried grooves that’ll have ya swaying with the barley. Soulful singer Juliet Olivier has a penchant for indelible hooks that will carry you up and away like the easy summer breeze beneath gliding bird wings. Experimental electronic artist Dinnersss will surely have some unconventional instruments on hand to tickle ears and stir the soul. Last but certainly not least, Free Pizza returns to swell hearts and shake hips with their infectious, bouncey garage pop. Did we mention interactive art installations, collaborative sound sculptures and a barbecue potluck? There may be many ways to enjoy this longest of days, but this intimate event will fill your heart with love and generosity like no other. More info HERE.
