Destroyer‘s Dan Bejar creates saccharine ’80s MOR-style songs and sounds so deceptively smooth you don’t even feel the sting of their venom until its too late and they’ve completely taken over your being. That’s probably why last year’s Kaputt, the Vancouver band’s 9th full-length, has been rightfully praised to the high heavens. Bejar brings this brand of bilious lounge rock to The Paradise tonight along with fellow Canadian Sandro Perri whose soft, minimal, subtly affecting ambient song-settings will surely keep you in the kind of trance you might normally expect from the most psychedelic drone bands you’ve encountered. 7pm doors 18+ $15 advance
