Head on down to Central Square for a truly momentous occasion. Yes, Black Flag have risen from the crypt and will be blowing minds at the our storied Middle East. Greg Ginn is the madman behind this truly dumbfounding reincarnation fronted by early Flag legend Ron Reyes. Black Flag has always been one to bewilder their fanbase. My War truly flipped the switch on Damaged by slowing things down to a sludgy, dark snail pace. Then they put out an instrumental record called “The Process of Weeding Out” which describes exactly what they were doing to their audience. So in a way it’s not too surprising to see this happening. It’s all just part of the weird history of one of punk’s greatest crews. They’ll be bringing that classic suburban Cali agression. Greg Ginn is pulling a pretty epic move by playing twice this night, first with legendary skateboarder Mike Vallely as Good For You. They’ll be playing their tight, disgusted, high-energy rock handling heavy themes like regret and resolve. It’s cool to see Ho-Ag are back and will be spitting out their spastic, new wave of punk with songs from their latest record “World-Destroying Zig-Zags”. Regardless of how things go down, this show is gone be nuts!
