It’s a weirdo-fest tonight at O’brien’s and you’d better be there! Hometown dream-pop dazers Polaroids are at it again with those dancy, snappy guitar licks and that lo-fi washy sound – just what you need on a Thursday night. Paperhaus (D.C.) takes pages from 60’s rock and 80s Pop and combine high-tension chords, thick bass, and chorus guitars to make what they call “Psychadelic Alt-Blues”. Vundabar will be sliding up and down the neck, getting that revved-up blown-up surf sound just right (if you’re not twistin’, you must be made of stone). And Brooklyn madmen Other Factors switch it up between garage kickers, noise bits, and choral post-punk – songs like “Needlenose” simultaneously make you want to dance like a goof and smoke a cigarette in the shadows of a dumpster. Get out to Allston, tie a few on, and hear some strange jams!
