Choke Up (Seasick Records) rock a fat ‘n fast mix of hardcore and pop-y emo that’s strangely classical in its chord-changes. For all you fans of the steady-rockin’ super-fuzzy Sneeze (Bear Records, Midnight Werewolf), make sure to grab a copy of their new LP – the launch date got moved up from June 3rd so hop on it! Somerville favorites Maura (Disposable America, Antique Records) serve up simmering pop-punk tunes with subtly terrifying lyrics (“You’ve been out there on display for days…”). And Allston swooners and caps-junkies CHANDELIERS round out the show with their dancy bluesy jangles that sound a little like an exploding Modest Mouse LP.
