Austin’s Strange Boys are rolling into town tonight, bringing their rockin blend of proto-punk and r&b to Great Scott. Not afraid to let their honky-tonk roots show, the Boys’ booze-soaked garage tunes are the perfect soundtrack for a beautiful spring night in Boston. They’re joined by another southern boy with a more subdued sound: Nashville’s William Tyler, formerly of the band Lambchop. Pull up a stool and chill out to his pastoral acoustic soundscapes and Fahey-inspired finger-picking. Boston’s own The New Highway Hymnal will be kicking the night off with their fresh take on the fully twanged-out end of the neo-psych spectrum. Word is there’s still plenty of tickets available so don’t be afraid to come on down. 9pm doors. 18 plus. $10 cover.
