Chicago’s FIELDED, the solo project of Lindsey Powell (Ga’an, Skyblazer) feautres sci-fi inspired cosmic pop, with Powell’s operatic croon propelling the minimal instrumentation into lush, stark territory. Tour mate GEL SET relies more on smokey beats and whispered incantationed for a blurry, intoxicated feel. ALICE COHEN, a veteran of many styles, triumphs with lovingly crafted synth pop that sparkles in the moonlight (read our glowing review of her latest release Pink Keys HERE). Local FRSKE starts things off right with troubling gutter rhythms that’ll shake the foundations. Come out and shake out those weekday jitters – and don’t forget to rock that true goth style (ya know, all black) for a dollar off admission.
