If you recognize the first band mentioned in the title above, I doubt you’ve even bothered to read this blurb, as your Saturday night is clearly already decided. But for those that don’t know, Acid Mothers Temple is one of the heaviest, far out, brazen acid rock collectives this side of the milky way. For over 15 years now these prolific japanese weirdos have been churning out album after album of extended space rock jams, grungy gutter slow burners, DMT-fueled head turners, deliciously psychedelic noodlers, and everything in between. Tonight they descend on Boston as part of their extensive ‘Last Tour in US & Canada’ where they shall surely envelope the Great Scott in a whirlwind of massive walls of reverb, nasty sweet guitar riff, crashing drum solos and a pervasive ambience of hazy, unsettling premonitions of oncoming doom. They are supported by Brooklyn-based Phantom Family Halo and local heavy heros Da Burdz (featuring Sunburned Hand of the Man alum). Overall a substantial evening of vigorous vibes – not to be missed.
