If you like your punk fast, loud and noisy, check out this show at T.T. the Bear’s, courtesy of Bowery Boston. All the way from Copenhagen, Iceage mark their territory in the bleak wasteland between hardcore aggression, no-wave dissonance and gothy gloom, swirling them together in a furious vortex of sound. Clangy post-punk bass fights pounding drums for breathing room, seething guitars slash and burn with equal parts Burzum and Bauhaus. Vancouver, BC’s White Lung recalls the best of 90’s riot grrrl while their blistering guitar assaults mask surprisingly intricate riffs and melodies. Boston’s The Darker Hues start the night out with their shouty-yet-melodic brand of post-hardcore, they have a new EP out on Refuse Rethink Rebuild Records. This show looks to be fast and furious, don’t say we didn’t warn you.
