Starting as a practice group in 2006, Since starting as a practice group in 06, Debo gained rapid success with a fantastic full length with Sub Pop and sunswquent national and international praise. Their music brings together elements of Ethiopian pop, funk, and jazz, that’s as good to move yo body to as it is to hear. There are very few other bands in the area who have developed as unique and tight a sound as they have, implementing instruments such as electric violin, sousaphone, accordion that work to melodize crazy grooves over seriously stunning vocals. Playing festivals from Austin to Ethiopia, they are beginning to make a name for themselves the world over, as they successfully bring traditional and folk sounds to a new age of listeners. With the hip hop stylings of DJ ZEMA to kick off the partay between sets come on down and check out a band that can start a dance party like no other.
