Tonight listen to some music that will challenge you and disturb your comfort zone. OPENSOUND, a monthly concert series dedicated tob bringing together artists who delve into the experimental and avant-garde, is back yet again for a show at THIRD LIFE STUDIOS in Somerville. Whitehaus resident and experimental sonic improviser ARKM FOAM (BANG! BROS., Peace, Loving), the curator for this evening’s sounds, collaborates with cellist and exposed circuits guru Vic Rawlings, putting their heads together to create sounds and schemes you will not find anywhere else. The trio of LOS CONDENADOS create mesmerizing, unique sonic experiences through innovative use of digital vocals, electronics and choking brass saxophone. Soloist SHEA MOWAT combines sine waves and vocals by way of prepared equipment, while locals record heads Angela Sawyer (Exusamwa) and Mark Johnson (BANG! BROS.) combine to form BABIES OF BRAZZERS, using contact mics in strange, unconventional ways to create noisy atmospheres that fuel their outlandish experiments in psychological regression. So many wild sounds, you’ll end the night retrieving the pieces of your shattered sense of a coherent reality!
