This March is pretty cold so far, but you know what might make it better? A blanket of fuzz. Especially one patchworked with primary-colored melody squares, frayed into synth-threads at the corners, and thin enough that you can detect the chunky shapes of rhythm underneath. Chester Endersby Gwazda comes from Baltimore to throw exactly that kind of blanket over JP’s Video Underground. He’s joined by Athens, Georgia’s Outer Spaces (Cara Beth Satalino), who plays guitar like a loaded gesture and has the voice of an old friend who is keeping a secret from you. Also appearing are Allston’s own Ronnie Nordac — who loves pizza and the simple things, has beautiful glossy hair and celebrates it all through rawk — and Aykroyd, which is made up of members of local favorites the Needy Visions and Craters, so it’s probably going to sound like a high-spirited cowboy looking into the mouth of a gift horse, and realizing that its teeth are synthesizers, and then playing the synthesizers. It’s all courtesy of Bodies of Water Shows. Come warm up at the Video Underground tonight!
