Ever seen that Hitchcock suspense/horror film The Birds? Well this show is kinda like that, only louder and faster, with some punk bands yelling over churning guitar riffs and crushing drums. And hopefully less dangerous, although we’re not making any promises. Land yourself at the Cambridge Elks Lounge tonight to spot this rare breed of furious fowl! Witness Bloodpheasant hatch this rhythmic freak-out egg with some brooding riffs that will settle into your heart and then claw it out, as meandering guitar breaks into a flight of intense emotional upheaval. J/Q sweep up the mess with their bass and synth, making those gritty pop jams that bring us back to a swirling alternate-universe sixties that is just a little moodier than anyone remembers it. Just don’t get too caught up in that whelm of nostalgia, because the grunge punks Harris Hawk will drag you back down to biting reality with their grinding guitar distortion. Boston’s own TRASHAWK slinging out some loud and fast, hard and heavy, raw punk rock sludge fitting for a swim in the river Styx. These birds will peck your eyes out, metaphorically. So get pumped!
