They keep up the good sounds TONIGHT at O’Brien’s with a handful of beastly rock acts. Local basement rats THE NICE GUYS have quickly accumulated a dedicated following of kids addicted to their adrenaline-raddled surf punk, and they’ll surely destroy tonight as usual. Fellow Allstonians IDIOT GENES do a fuzzy, plodding mid-tempo bummer rock that cuts deep like glass shards of a broken 40. INFRAMEN go old school with some psycho-twisted surf rock rumble. VUNDABAR rounds out this swell evening with yearning, bouncy pop-rock jangles with just enough alt-rock gravel to keep it earnest. This is a great night of local rock that you probably won’t hear much about from the other guys, so catch this sleeper show and get in on the secret.
