Round out your weekend with the peculiar pleasures of dark, brooding, minimal electronics. Julia Holter is an experimental electronic composer whose works belie all the stereotypes usually associated with those terms — the soundscapes she creates are full of organic emotion, and her songs don’t feel so much composed as recovered like a memory, or grown up out of sidewalk cracks. Word on the street is she’s bringing along a cellist, a violinist, a saxophonist, and a drummer on this tour, to better build a city around her solo wanderer’s voice and keyboard. She’s joined by Jessica Pratt, who draws from the wellspring of American folk with a diamond dipper, and local dark synth power couple Ruby Ridge. The Church of Boston is the perfect place to meet these new old souls.
