SMASH IT DEAD, the weekend-long benefit fest for BARCC, continues today at the Democracy Center (near Harvard Square)s with two packed shows, a couple informative workshops and a whole bunch of food. First, enjoy this sunny saturday afternoon with a low key digest of mostly local dreamers and rippers, including Liana’s Fire, Peeple Watchin, St. Ripper, Rubics (SC) and Shady Hawkins (NY). Take a break from the noise with a potluck dinner (including vegan pizza) and a workshop on male privilege (yum!). You’ll need the energy for an evening show of hi-octante hardcore punk with Huasipungo (NY), In School (NY), Condeada (CA), Curmudgeon and Thulsa Doom (PA). Good music, good food, good knowledge, all for a good cause – What’s not to like?
