Girls Rock Campaign Boston is holding a fundraiser at Lorem Ipsum Books as a part of the Girls Rock Camp Alliance 50 Events/50 States Fundraiser with a special reading from Sara Marcus, author of “Girls to the Front“! What is Girls Rock Camp, you ask? The awesome ladies of Girls Rock Campaign Boston come together to organize a volunteer run summer program for girls aged 8-17 who are given the chance to form bands, learn how to play an instrument (guitar, bass, keyboard, drums, or vocals), compose an original song, and perform at a LIVE rock venue in Boston- all in a week’s time! The girls are also given workshops on self-esteem building and self-expression as well as self-defense, screen printing, Women in Rock History, and songwriting.
