Ok, so it’s friday the 13th, and the only way to properly celebrate this wonderful non-holiday is by watching a bunch of the many many cruddy to wonderful(that being opposite ends of the B movie spectrum) FRIDAY THE 13th films on the BIG SCREEN. Thankfully we live in an amazing film town, and you have your pick of seeing 3 different FRIDAY THE 13ths TONITE!!!!!!!!!! The film with the most untruthful title in the franchise, FRIDAY THE 13th: THE FINAL CHAPTER (Part IV), as well as JASON LIVES: FRIDAY THE 13th, Part VI, both screen @ the BRATTLE THEATER tonite as part of their SCHLOCK AROUND THE CLOCK FESTIVAL which is happening all weekend and features a bevy of Roger Corman related flicks, a couple of Godzillas, the amazing THE HIDDEN(starring pre-Agent Cooper KyleMacLachlan) showing @ MIDNITE on saturday, the also amazing and hilarious AMAZON WOMEN ON THE MOON and other exploitation and trash favs.

You also have a chance to see FRIDAY THE 13th part VII: THE NEW BLOOD @ the Coolidge Corner Theater for a MIDNITE show. The Coolidge shows whacko, weirdo, hilarious flicks every friday and saturday. You should get into it!

Between the Brattle & The Coolidge & events like the BOSTON UNDERGROUND FILM FESTIVAL we are seeing a real birth of an alternative film scene in this town, and I, for one could not be happier! Get weird @ the cinema!
